     The oxygen index refers to the oxygen concentration at which a material reaches its ignition point. Generally speaking, the higher the oxygen index of a material, the higher the oxygen concentration required for ignition, and the less likely it is to be ignited; On the contrary, the material has a low oxygen index and is prone to reaching the ignition point at low oxygen concentrations. Oxygen index less than 21 belongs to flammable materials, and above 28 belongs to flame retardant materials.

     Flame retardant fabrics are divided into temporary flame retardant, semi permanent flame retardant, and durable (permanent) flame retardant.

Temporary flame-retardant fabric: it is a kind of water soluble flame-retardant finishing agent, such as bentonite, bouncy acid, etc., which is evenly applied to the fabric by dipping, padding, brushing or spray. It has flame-retardant effect after drying. It is suitable for articles that do not need to be washed or are not washed frequently, curtains, sunshades, etc. It is economical, convenient to handle, but not resistant to washing.

    Semi permanent flame-retardant fabric: refers to the fabric that can withstand 10-15 mild washes and still has a flame-retardant effect, but is not resistant to high-temperature soap washing. This process is suitable for indoor decorative fabrics, high-speed car seats, covers, etc.

    Durable flame-retardant finishing fabric: It can be washed more than 50 times and can be soaped. It is suitable for textiles that are frequently washed, such as work protective clothing, firefighting clothing, tents, bags, household items, etc.
